On our first visit to Nice, we were instantly captivated by the vibrant colors of its streets and the azure blue waters. It’s a place where every corner feels alive, from buzzing markets to cozy cafés made for lingering. From wandering through charming neighborhoods to enjoying local bites and soaking up the laid-back vibe, Nice instantly felt like a place we’d want to come back to. Whether you’re here for a quick visit or a longer stay, this city has a way of making you want to slow down and truly savor the moment.

We’ve gathered some of our favorite spots to eat, drink, shop, and soak up the laid-back spirit of Nice — a place that’s quickly become one of our favorite sunny escapes, no matter the time of year!

Eat:

Babel Babel

Beachfront wine bar with mediterranean small plates. Ask for a table on the upstairs balcony and enjoy the stunning sea view.

La Treille Bar à Vin

Amazing spot with a great wine list. Always packed so book in advance or drop by and wait for a table they serve wine on the curb while waiting.

Chez Davia

A family run establishment for 3 generations. Serving traditional Provencal cuisine in a charming and cosy space.

Le Bistrot des Serruriers

A chic bistrot owned by the people behind Hôtel du Couvent and located just down the street from the hotel. I highly recommend the lunch menu from Wednesday to Sunday.

Located in the heart of Cours Saleya near Vieux Nice, Jacques En Terrasse serves up great French cuisine. Come here with a group of friends and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere in the courtyard behind the restaurant.

Located just next to Port de Nice. My go to spot for a morning dip with the locals. Enjoy the flat rocks, clear water and stunning view.

Le Temps d’un Été

A private beach club located on Promanades des Anglaise. The perfect place to spend a day in the sun. Book your sunbed in advance as it is often full. They serve great food and staff is very friendly.

Musée Matisee de Nice

Tucked away in the northern part of Nice, the area of Cimiez is home to a 17th century villa dedicated to the artist Henri Matisse, showcasing some of his lesser known works. After exploring the collection, you can enjoy a stroll through the beautiful gardens surrounding the museum.

Eze Village

Just a 20-minute train ride from Nice, you’ll find the medieval town of Eze. Explore Eze Village, perched atop a cliff, and soak in its charming streets. Stop by in the morning for a coffee and croissant at the Château de la Chèvre d’Or while enjoying the breathtaking views.
